The China-Thailand High-Speed Rail Project is not only Thailand's first high-speed railway but also the world's first high-speed rail project that utilizes Chinese high-speed rail design standards and is self-funded by the host country. As a flagship project for high-quality Belt and Road cooperation by China and Thailand, it will significantly drive Thailand's infrastructure development and socio-economic growth. The project in Thailand is divided into two phases, with the southern section of the first phase stretching from the capital Bangkok to the northeastern town of Nakhon Ratchasima, covering approximately 250 kilometers. Among the 14 contracted sections, Section 4-3 of Phase 1 is the only one undertaken by a Chinese company. It is the largest section within the China-Thailand High-Speed Rail Project and connects Pathum Thani Province and the direct-administered county of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya. The project includes 23 kilometers of elevated railway and 2.4 kilometers of rail tracks, primarily consisting of elevated bridges.
