The museum stands as the first large comprehensive natural history museum in South China. Inspired by a river delta, the overall architecture simulates the flow of the river and the banks. It connects five conical structures with rhythmic flow lines, resembling a giant python resting at the heart of the city, through spacious corridors and public facilities.
