CSCEC recently made steady progress on Section 4-2 of Line 4, part of Phase 2 of the Astana Light Rail Transit project in Kazakhstan, as crews worked to make the most of the fall construction window. Crews at multiple work sites coordinated efficiently, and the section reached several key milestones at stations and along the sections between them.

Concrete pouring for the track level of Station 402 was completed, using about 1,100 cubic meters of concrete. Work on the platform level is underway, while excavation and cushion-layer concrete placement for the step-up substation have been completed.

By early September, 479 piles, 104 pile caps for the line sections, 25 station pile caps, and 106 piers had been completed.

Line 4 of Phase 2 of the Astana Light Rail Transit project is about 9 kilometers long and will operate as a fully automated line. Once completed, it will connect with Phase 1 of the project, improving public transportation in Astana and the surrounding area. CSCEC's Section 4-2 covers the civil works for Station 402 and the section between Stations 402 and 403, spanning about 3 kilometers.
