The No.1 National Highway links Brazzaville, the political capital, with Pointe-Noire, the economic center. Along the way, it traverses a variety of terrains, including primeval rainforests, coastal plains, valleys, and plateaus. The project accomplished the daunting task of cutting through the awe-inspiring Mayombe forest within three years. Over eight years of construction, the project gathered invaluable technical expertise and management experience tailored to the complex geographical and geological conditions of Africa.
