As Pakistan's first intelligent highway, the PKM Project has digitized and automated functions like toll collection systems and signal management. CSCEC, through intelligent management and operation methods, has compressed the travel time along the route from Multan to Sukkur from 11 hours to just 4 hours. This has significantly catalyzed socio-economic development in the region, earning accolades from the Pakistani government for being a "model of excellence."

On this road, the intelligent toll collection system has successfully reduced the time taken at toll booths to just two or three seconds, ensuring a swift passage for travelers. Furthermore, prominent electronic signboards have been installed to assist people in navigating and reaching their destinations more swiftly.

Moreover, the PKM Project's intelligent traffic management system monitors the entire motorway, providing comprehensive traffic flow data, monitoring, and weather alerts. This offers timely and precise traffic information for drivers, traffic management authorities, and road maintenance personnel.

The builders have blended technology with road construction. Smart streetlights have been placed along the road, controlled automatically from the central control room, illuminating the path ahead, creating a safer and more convenient driving environment for motorists.
