Pilot Project of Ecological Protection and Restoration in Wuliangsuhai Lake(Ulansuhai Nur)

The project, with an ecological restoration area of about 14,700 square kilometers, is the largest pilot project for the ecological restoration of mountain, water, forest, farmland, lake and grass in the country. It includes the comprehensive improvement of the mine geological environment, the construction of the Ulansuhai Nur seawall road, the forest and grass ecological restoration project at the northern and southern foothills of the Wula Mountains, the "toilet revolution" project, and the Ulan Buh Desert comprehensive management project. The desert control area ranks first among similar projects in the country, and it can reduce one million cubic meters of yellow sand flowing into the Yellow River every year. After completion, it will promote rural revitalization in areas with a population of 37,000 in the basin.
