Qingdao Jiaodong International Airport is a regional hub airport, a gateway airport of Northeast Asia, and a 4F class airport(the highest in the class of airport). China Construction Eighth Engineering Division, a subsidiary of CSCEC, took advantages of its leading position in the airport construction and constructed the starfish-shaped terminal building with a construction area of 302,000 square meters. According to the plan, by 2025, Qingdao Jiaodong International Airport will have an annual throughput of 35 million passengers, 500,000 tons of cargo, and 300,000 aircraft movements, becoming a comprehensive transportation hub integrating the functions of aviation, railroad, highway and urban rail in China. The airport is of great significance for the city to build a new platform for international cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative, build an international comprehensive transportation hub city, and better play its key role in the new development pattern.
