This project is located on the west side of Niushou Mountain in Nanjing, covering a total construction area of 260,000 square meters. The town combines the characteristic cultures of Jiangning District and Niushou Mountain. The façade decoration of the architecture is mainly made of wood and tiles, accompanied by traditional crafts like woodcarvings, copper ornaments, and color paintings. It is also embellished with more than 350 kinds of exquisite elements, such as cast copper nails, pediments, beam frames, bargeboards with a suspended fish, and Chiwei, a kind of ceramic ornament shaped like an owl's tail placed at either end of a roof ridge, all of which represent the superb craftsmanship of the decorations.
"Jinling Blue" is a symbolic color of Jinling Town, dominated by blue-green hues like turquoise, emerald, and malachite. It was discovered on the ribbon of Fei Tian on Dunhuang Murals by the research team after a thorough search of the ancient books and can be dated back to the Murals of the Six Dynasties period (220-589).
