Palace Museum Restoration Hall
The project is located in the Xiheyan area beside the city wall of the Forbidden City, covering an area of about 19,000 square meters. After it is completed, the occupied ancient buildings will be vacated for protection. The project will also improve the conditions of cultural relics research, restoration and protection, integrate the restoration process, and renovate the environment of the Xiheyan area, so as to play a positive role in the long-term protection of the Forbidden City.
Great Bao'en Templ
With an aim to protect the millennia-old cultural relics and pass down the Chinese civilization, the Great Bao'en Temple, covering a total construction area of 60,600 square meters, integrates the historical and cultural resources of Nanjing. In the process of construction, CSCEC has developed and applied the technologies of full glass curtain wall with dynamic images and of protection of the historical sites, and rebuilt a new91.357-meter-highpagoda—the Porcelain Tower of Nanjing, which gives the temple a new appearance like a phoenix from the ashes.
The technological achievements of the project have been applied in many other architectural conservation projects, which represents a hugebreakthrough in the conservation of urban architectural heritage in China.
Lijiangbei Historic Conservation Area in Xinchang County
The Lijiangbei Historic Conservation Area is built alongside the ancient city walls of Xinchang County. The project includes three timber structure buildings to be preserved and renovated and eight to be relocated to the local area. The historic buildings in Lijiangbei, with a total construction area of nearly 40,000 square meters, contain the relics of the ancient city walls, the Zhishui Temple, the Taimen Complex of Xinchang and other scenic spots. It is also a combination of cultural experience, exhibition and exchange, creative business, dining and recreation, cultural entertainment, and other business forms.
