The project is the core venue for the 31st Summer World University Games in Chengdu and an important venue for the 18th AFC Asian Cup in 2023. The project includes a professional football field that meets FIFA standards and has 60,000 seats, and a comprehensive stadium that meets NBA standards and has 18,000 seats. It was put into use for the first time in June 2021. Since then, it not only undertakes international and domestic top-level competitions, but also meets the functions of professional training of youth football, sports exchanges, exhibitions, commercial performances, large-scale variety shows, and tourism.
