Recently, the right carriageway of the E60 Highway ( F1 section ) in Georgia, constructed by CSCEC, was officially opened to traffic. Georgian Minister of Infrastructure Irakli Karseladze attended the opening ceremony and remarked that the F1 section is a key segment of the E60 Highway — a vital east-west corridor — and plays a significant role in promoting Georgia's economic and social development, as well as regional connectivity between Asia and Europe.
Located at the junction of Georgia's Imereti and Shida Kartli, the project included the upgrading of approximately 11.6 kilometers of existing dual-lane roads, involving the construction of 22 bridges, 48 slopes, and 3 tunnels. Once fully operational, the project is expected to greatly ease traffic congestion in the area, reduce travel time between the capital Tbilisi and the western ports of Batumi and Poti, and enhance the efficiency of passenger and freight transport along the route.
