A consortium of China Construction First Group Corporation Limited and other companies won the bid for Section 3 of the Beijing sub-center integrated transportation hub project. With a total contract value of 3.9 billion yuan, the Section 3 project has a construction area of 305,300 squares meters and is scheduled to be completed and opened to traffic in late 2024. Upon completion, the sub-center station will become the largest underground integrated transportation hub in Asia and a new gateway to Beijing.
The Beijing sub-center integrated transportation hub is adjacent to the bank of the Northern Canal to the west and to East Sixth Ring Road to the east. The total site area is about 70 hectares. It is one of Beijing’s top 10 railway gateway hubs, a bridgehead for the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, the only integrated railway hub connecting the two major international airports in Beijing, and the only interchange hub in the sub-center that links the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and the central area of Beijing.
This project is of great significance in promoting the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, improving the functional layout of the sub-center, increasing the influence of the sub-center, as well as enhancing people’s sense of gain and happiness.
