Exploring the three major venues for Asian Games in Hangzhou Olympic Sports Center built by CSCEC

On April 22, the video broadcast of the three major venues for the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, which was invested, built and operated by CSCEC, was carried out, and more than 1.2 million people watched it online on mainstream Chinese media.

As the main venue of the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022, the three major venues for the Asian Games are located on the south bank of Qiantang River, with a total construction area of 582,000 square meters, including the main arena, the aquatics center, and the comprehensive training center in Hangzhou Olympic Sports Center.

The combination of the main arena and the aquatics center is the largest connected nonlinear modelling in the world, like a silver butterfly. Among them, the main arena accommodates 18,000 seats, including 15,000 fixed seats and 3,000 movable seats and the aquatics center accommodates 6000 seats.

The 1800-square-meter ice hockey arena can be changed into a basketball court in 6-8 hours, which is the only one of its kind in Zhejiang Province that can hold international competitions, and it can undertakes large-scale matches such as figure skating, short track speed skating and basketball. The aquatics center includes a swimming pool and a diving pool. Among them, there are 8 swimming lanes in the swimming pool which will produce 41 gold medals and the diving pool, with a water depth of 6 meters, will hold the diving competition, which will produce 13 gold medals.

Special junction boxes for 4K high-definition TV broadcasting are set up around and at the high position of the venues, and in the press conference halls and media areas. 4K competition real-time publishing systems are set up in the public areas and functional rooms of the venue, bringing the ultimate audio-visual feast to athletes and spectators.

At present, the preparations for various Asian Games events are progressing steadily and efficiently. The project operation will undergo stress tests through event drills to test the venue performance, and it is expected to hold the first match in June.
