The Hongyancun Station of Chongqing Rail Transit Line 9, constructed by CSCEC, has been honored with the Gold Award in the Project of the Year (Up to €100 million) category at the ITA Tunnelling Awards 2025.

Hongyancun Station, located between Yuzhong and Shapingba districts in Chongqing, has two entrances—Exit 2 at the foot of the mountain and Exit 4 at the top—separated by a vertical distance of 141 meters, equal to the height of a 48-story building. This is the greatest height difference for metro station entrances in China.

Through innovative design, CSCEC engineers overcame the challenges of accessing deeply buried underground stations, reducing travel time between the mountaintop and the riverside from about 30 minutes to just 3 minutes.
