The No. 4 tunnel of the 27.7-kilometer Upper Elahera Canal Project in Sri Lanka, undertaken by CSCEC, has been successfully completed, marking the final push towards project completion and laying a solid foundation for the full completion of the project.

The project is a key water infrastructure project under Sri Lanka's The Mahaweli Water Security Investment Program, a major livelihood project. It includes a 26.6-kilometer TBMhard rock excavation tunnel section, the No. 4 tunnel, and part of the open-cut water channels. To date, 75% of the TBM excavation tasks have been completed. Upon completion, the project will provide irrigation water to 73,800 hectares of farmland and provide domestic water to 375,000 households along the route.
