In its nearly 40 years in Botswana, CSCEC has carried out more than 100 major infrastructure and livelihood projects, including the Dikgatlhong water pipeline project and the Ramaeba Primary School. These projects have helped improve local livelihoods, support industrial development and strengthen infrastructure.
Dikgatlhong water pipeline project

The 75-kilometer pipeline is the core water transmission project serving the Dikgatlhong Dam. It began operating in 2015, delivering more than 60 million cubic meters of water a year to the capital, Gaborone. It has eased water shortages in the capital and in villages and towns along the route, providing a reliable water supply for the city's industries and residents.
Nata-Pandamatenga road upgrade (DM3) project

The 63-kilometer project involves clearing the old road and widening the existing carriageway from 10 meters to 11 meters. The road is a national trunk route linking Nata and Pandamatenga, two major industrial and farming hubs. It is also the only route to the tourist areas of Kasane and southern Chobe. The upgrade is expected to benefit local agriculture, mining and tourism.
Molepolole wastewater treatment plant

The plant is a key hub of Botswana's North-South Carrier water transfer project. Once completed, it will greatly increase the capacity for treating urban wastewater and improve sanitation for residents.
BVI animal vaccine center

Completed and handed over in 2024, the center is an important facility for the animal disease prevention and control industry in southern Africa. About two-thirds of its vaccines are exported to countries in central and southern Africa and to 16 European Union countries. The center helps protect the region's livestock sector and supports the transformation of Botswana's livestock industry.
Ramaeba Primary School

Handed over in 2024, the school has classrooms, a library, a canteen, dormitories and sports courts. It can accommodate 560 students and helps ease the pressure on local schools.
Across its projects, CSCEC has integrated environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles into every stage of project management, ensuring that local people share in the benefits.
CSCEC hires local residents and subcontractors. Local employees make up more than 90 percent of the workforce at each project, and the projects create an average of about 1,800 jobs a year. The company also runs training programs to develop skilled workers and managers in Botswana.
CSCEC also takes part in public welfare programs. Together with a Chinese medical team in Botswana, it has organized free medical consultations for more than 100 people. The company has also participated in China-Botswana cultural exchange events and supported education and community development programs.
