The Astana Light Rail Transit in Kazakhstan is making rapid progress. Along the main line, work on track sections, station structures, and secondary masonry has been fully completed. The depot's main structure is also finished, while final touches are underway on station entrances and interior finishes. As Central Asia's first urban light rail system, the project will cut commuting time between the two ends of the line by nearly half once it enters service.
