Amid the ever-evolving urban landscape, where urban and ecological elements coexist and flourish alongside the residents, what truly defines an ideal urban environment?
Six years ago, Kamal Venkatesan joined CSCEC and became an integral part of Singapore's Bukit Canberra Sports and Community Hub Development Project. Let us, through his lens, explore the concept of a livable city—Singapore.
A sense of freedom and inclusivity, a green and habitable environment, the allure of intelligent and humane qualities... From a city in a garden to a garden in the city, and finally to a city in nature, Singapore has integrated nature, water bodies, and urban development on this island city.
Approximately 40% of the expansive 118,000 square meter area of Bukit Canberra is devoted to stunning park spaces. The Bukit Canberra Integrated Sports and Community Center project has a variety of amenities such as a food court, indoor gym, clinics, senior care center, swimming and fitness facilities, overhead passes, and a central park. These amenities are centered around historical and cultural buildings. Here, CSCEC has woven elements of relaxed living, environmental sustainability, and smart technology to breathe vibrancy and beauty into this piece of land.
Here, greenness and architecture merge perfectly. To maximize the protection of the existing environment, CSCEC has integrated green construction principles throughout the project's entire lifecycle, safeguarding the life of the entire garden city.
Finding the perfect balance between protecting the environment and advancing urban development, CSCEC has created a garden city that embodies both beauty and sustainability.
Here, smart technology and architecture unite harmoniously. From above, the soil-free plants on the roof cool and cradle the building. Beneath the roof, visitors can find refuge from the hot and bustling city atmosphere, with the integration of intelligent technology and eco-friendly architectural design.
The filtration system of stones, gravel, and vegetation leaches away sediment and clears the turbid water. In a gently peaceful scenery, rainwater flows down along riverbeds, cascading in smaller rivulets.
Here, healthy urban living and nature seamlessly blend. The project caters to everyone, providing a healthy, convenient, and vibrant community for the nearby residents.
At the project, ecological preservation, smart technology, and harmonious living concepts come together, as CSCEC strives to create an urban happy living environment that caters to all.
Cities develop with this kind of thoughtful integration, a communalistic integration that reaps prosperity to be shared by all.
