Recently, the first batch of 117 modular camps, manufactured by CSCEC, for the East African Crude Oil Pipeline Project (EACOP) in Uganda, have been officially loaded and shipped. These modular camps will cater to the accommodation and office needs of nearly 5,000 workers.
All the modular components were manufactured at an intelligent factory of CSCEC in Shenzhen. These modular camps can elevate buildings above ground, protecting them from pests and providing moisture and heat resistance, making them suitable for the climatic conditions in the East Africa. Furthermore, bathroom fixtures have been specially designed to meet the customs in the African region.
The EACOP, spanning Uganda and Tanzania, is a vital project in establishing an energy corridor in East Africa. The camp site covers a total construction area of 70,382 square meters, including 12 camps and an office for a pipe stacking yard. These camps come equipped with complete furnishings, appliances, kitchens, bathrooms, showers, laundry facilities, and electrical equipment.
