Recently, The grand opening ceremony of CSCEC-built CUHK Medical Centre was successfully held. HKSAR Chief Executive Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor attended the ceremony.

Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor said that the CUHK Medical Centre is of great significance in teaching, medical treatment and scientific research, and plays an important role in promoting the development of life and health research in Hong Kong. The SAR Government will fully cooperate with the expansion plan of the CUHK Medical Centre in the future. After being put into use, the CUHK Medical Centre will receive outpatients from public hospitals, which will ease the pressure on Hong Kong's public medical system and bring new breakthroughs to Hong Kong's public health undertaking.

The CUHK Medical Centre is the fifteenth hospital project built by CSCEC, and it is also the first designing-included private hospital project in Hong Kong. The project officially started in September 2016 and lasted for 46 months with many difficulties overcame. It was completed on schedule by the end of June 2020 and high-standard delivery was achieved. With the help of CSCEC, the CUHK Medical Centre obtained a hospital license within six months. Dr. Chien Lee, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the CUHK Medical Centre, sent a thank-you letter to CSCEC, expressing his heartfelt thanks and admiration for the company's high sense of social responsibility and high-quality management during the construction of the project.

CSCEC has undertaken more than 25% of hospital projects in Hong Kong, and the number of hospital beds involved CSCEC built exceeds one eighth of the total number of that in Hong Kong. In the future, CSCEC will keep up with the trend of the times, uphold the responsibility of central enterprises, give full play to the construction experience accumulated at home and abroad for more than 40 years, and continue to help Hong Kong's medical and health undertakings develop at a high level and with high quality.
