In September 2019, the Houxi Long Distance Bus Station, which measures 162 meters long and 33.6 meters wide and weighs 30,000 tons, broke a Guinness World Record for the largest arc rotation area, the heaviest load and the longest arc rotation of a pivoted building in the world with a rotation distance of 288.24 meters. The station made a 90-degree turn horizontally and slid along the ground for as far as 288 meters, which made a new record in the industry. For the first time, by adopting a industry-leading technology in structure relocation, the project installed 532 rolling tracks to 133 stress points of the station. Using the Building Information Modeling platform, the project team simulated the rolling tracks and the structure in the computer, which saved 18.71 tons of metal materials and completed the rotation 22 days ahead of schedule.
