Pakistan Islamabad International Airport

The Islamabad International Airport is located about 40 kilometers southwest to Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan. Its terminals include a main terminal building and three lounges at the east, south and north, presenting the shape of an airplane. The main body of the terminal building is made of reinforced concrete shear walls with 3 or 4 floors above ground, which are built in two phases. Phase I of the project began in June 2011 and Phase II began in May 2015, with a total floor area of about 200,000 square meters. It is one of the most influential public projects in Pakistan in recent years.

With an annual capacity of 15 million passengers, the Islamabad International Airport will enhance the air transport of the capital, improve Pakistan's national air transport system, and upgrade Islamabad's international image. Since the Islamabad International Airport plays a prominent role in aviation connectivity and in surrounding areas, it will also play an active role in Pakistan's economic development and in construction of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.
