The Zheng'an-Xishui Expressway in Guizhou Province built by CSCEC passes through nature reserves, national forest parks, national geological parks and aquatic resource protection zones. The CSCEC team made reasonable plans before and after construction to reduce the use of temporary lands and minimize damages to mountains and forests.

For ecologically sensitive (vulnerable) areas, it invited qualified third-party professional institutions to monitor and prepare special construction plans one by one to minimize the impact on the ecology along the line.

The average bridge-tunnel ratio of the project reached 64.12%. Scientific measures were taken to ensure that the surrounding wild animals would not be affected by the project during migration.
